In a recent email, I talked briefly about being a contrarian when it comes to money.

I really believe that if you want to be like most people when it comes to money, you should treat your money like most people.

Most people work their job, receive their paycheck, spend most or all of their money, and then repeat the process.

Being a contrarian here is simple (but maybe not easy).

You need to spend less than you make and then do something productive with the money you didn’t spend.

Typically that would be investing.

VERY few people actually do this, BUT even this group is pretty big.

You can spend less than you make, invest small portions into low-cost index funds, and become a millionaire by the age of 60 or older.

What if you don’t want to be in that group either?

You have to be a contrarian again.

You need to make more money… of which there are a million ways to do it these days.

I have driven for uber/lyft, been a handyman, flipped free stuff from craigslist, flipped stuff on ebay, photographed real estate properties with my camera and drone, etc etc.

I even cover a TON of different ways to make money passively in my community.

Most people are content to do their job, come home, and relax 100% of their time off.

I wasn’t.

So I worked my ass off after I got home from my day job and made as much money as I could.

Then I was a further contrarian to all my friends/family and took most of that money and put it into asymmetric bets… like Bitcoin.

Doing this not only made me a contrarian to what the majority of people are doing, but it also made me a millionaire in only 6 years.

I’ve made many more decisions like that. They have all got me to where I am today.

I am not suggesting you take all your money and put it into crypto.

What I am suggesting is that you look at what most people are doing and ask yourself: “Is this what I want from life?”

And if the answer is no. Then do something different. Be a contrarian.
